RENDERING PROCESS GUIDE
This short guide is intended to give you an overview of my approach to a typical 3D visualization project. While every project has its own complexities which can deviate in some way from you see here, you can still expect the process to look something like this. This is not at all a complete procedural document, so if you have any questions about it and how it relates to your project then please don’t hesitate to let me know. Thank you for reading!
1. 2D Drawings
...or anything else you may have as a starting point! The drawings shown here are especially detailed examples; you may have photos, sketches, or even just an idea.
2. 3D Model
The initial translation of what you provide into 3D, providing your the first opportunity to react and make any major decisions about the direction of the project. These will be continually refined as the project progresses.
3. Preliminary Renderings
Addition of some colors, materials, shadows, and key design details. This step will also inform decisions about which specific viewpoints to continue developing.
4. Developed Renderings
Further addition and modification of details. At this point it is possible to see what the end result will look like in order to make final decisions about the design and presentation.
5. Final Renderings
Addition and refinement of the finishing touches that bring the images–and the project!–to life.
